Introduction: Spices Shelves

About: Hey! My name is Roey Leon, from Tel Aviv, Israel. On my free time, as a hobby of mine, I love building stuff from scratch. It always starts with a crazy idea, and then I realize that it`s too Dangerous / Unach…

I love to cook, so like every other amature "Chef" I have a lot of spices in the kitchen

It's mandatory to have spices- and lots of them if possible.

So in this cool project i built from scratch wood shelves made from pine tree and a coating of scim coat

Hope u enjoy

Step 1: Cut the Sides and Bottom Wood

Measure the desired size of the shelves ( mine is 60 cm length )

i didn`t had a proper size of wood- so i attached two together - applied wood glue and let it stick for a few hours

Step 2: Clamps

I used clamps to hold the two pieces together and attached the sides also ( using screws from the bottom )

Step 3: Seal the Gap

I needed to seal the gap between the two boards - used wood filler for that

Step 4: Attach Rear Hanging Bracket

In order to attach it to the wall i added an aluminum bracket from on the back

Step 5: Apply Skim Coat #1

I could have just paint it using a regular paint, but i just love the texture of this material - it`s like rough but still gives it a good look

Step 6: Apply Skim Coat #2

Continue applying it and after 10-15 min run over it with something thick such as wood ( or old credit card ) that way you can give it it`s final appearance

Step 7: Wrap Front Roll

wrapped the front stick with some black sticker ( Carbon ) - but over time it just fell off - so off it goes

Step 8: Attach to Wall

Drill the holes and your done!

Hope u enjoy!
