Squirtle Plushie

This cute Squirtle was very fun to make. This is the first time I tried my hand at making a pattern. I think it turned out great. I will include the pattern here.

Squirtle Pattern –Approx. 6 ½ inches tall
Material Needed-
G/6 hook
Turqua Yarn
Carrot Yarn
White Yarn
Tan Yarn
Felt

Head- Using Turqua
RND 1- CH 2, 6 SC in 2nd CH from hook
RND 2- 2 SC in each SC (12)
RND 3- 2 SC in next SC, SC in next SC (18)
RND 4- 2 SC in next SC, SC in next 2 SC (24)
RND 5- 2 SC in next SC, SC in next 3 SC (30)
RND 6- 2 SC in next SC, SC in next 3 SC (36)
RND 7-12- SC in each SC (36)
RND 13- SC in next 14 SC, HDC in next 8 SC, SC in next 14 SC (36)
RND 14- repeat RND 13
RND 15- DCS, SC in next 4 SC (30)
RND 16- DCS, SC in next 3 SC (24)
RND 17- DCS, SC in next 2 SC (18)
Fasten off, leave tail long enough to sew onto body.

Body

RNDS 1- 5- same as head (30)
RND 6-14- SC in each SC (30)
RND 15- DCS, SC in next 3 SC (24)
RND 16- DCS, SC in next 2 SC (18)
Fasten off, weave in end.

Stuff Head and Body and sew open ends together.

Arms- make 2

RND 1- CH 2- 4 SC in 2nd CH from hook
RND 2- 2 SC in next SC, SC in next SC (6)
RND 3- 2 SC in next SC, SC in next 2 SC (8)
RND 4-7- SC in each SC (8)
Fasten off, leaving tail long enough to sew to body.
Using white yarn and yarn needle sew claws onto arm.
Stuff both arms with a little bit of stuffing.



Feet- make 2

RND 1- CH 2, 6 SC in 2nd CH from hook
RND 2- 2 SC in each SC (12)
RND 3- SC in each SC (12)
RND 4- DCS, SC in next 2 SC (9)
RND 5- Turn work, SC in next 5 SC
RND 6- Turn work, SC in next 4 SC
RND 7- Turn work, SC in next 3 SC
Fasten off, leaving tail long enough for sewing, Stuff  a little with Stuffing.

Tail

RND 1- CH 2, 6 SC in 2nd CH from hook
RND 2- 2 SC in each SC (12)
RND 3- 2 SC in next SC, SC in next 3 SC (15)
RND 4-5- SC in each SC (15)
RND 6- DCS, SC in next 3 SC (12)
RND 7- DCS, SC in next 2 SC (9)
RND 8-10- SC in each SC- (9)
Begin stuffing tip of tail
RND 11- DCS, SC in next SC (6)
RND 12-15- SC in each SC (6)
Fasten off, leaving tail for sewing onto body.

Back Shell – Carrot Yarn

RND 1-6- Same as Head (36)
RND 7- HDC in next 14 SC, SL ST in next 4 SC, HDC in next 14 SC, SL ST in last 4 SC (36)
RND 8-9- Repeat RND 7
RND 10- Switch to white yarn- SC in each SC (36)
Fasten off, leaving tail long enough to sew onto body.

Front Shell- Tan Yarn

RND 1-5- Same as Head (30)
Make panels using SC to fill out front shell around arms and legs meeting back shell, sew onto body.
Use white yarn and yarn needle to sew around edges where the back and front shell meet.

Use felt to make eyes, glue them onto head by the HDC area.
