Introduction: String Wing the Sling Shootable Record Breaking Paper Airplane

About: Special Effects designer, nerd, maker, a monocle and high collared cape away from being a mad scientist.

I have come up with a simple modification to John Collins record breaking paper airplane that makes it 10 times more fun and will make you a hero to any kid you make this for. Have a look at the video on how to build one. I will go over this step by step in this ible but if you are a video learner have a look at my YouTube video on this and don't forget to subscribe.

Step 1: What You Will Need

For this StringWing you will need:

  • A sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper (standard north american printer paper)
  • Sting
  • Rubber bands
  • 3 paper clips
  • Scissors
  • Tape

That's it, this is super simple :)

Step 2: Fold the Plane Up

Follow along with the pictures for the folding, taping and tying...

So the instructions via pictures is ok. But it would be best to watch the video here to understand how it all goes together.

Step 3: Adjust and Fly

Again the video is best to watch for how to adjust the plane so it flys nice. Have fun and enjoy doing some tricks and having some fun with the kids.

Let me know any adaptations you come up with and show us your trick shots!
