Introduction: The Biggest Animal Abuses People Contribute to Everyday

About: I've been training dogs since I was 8 years old. I love Border Collies, Dachshunds, and bully breeds. I train in agility, obedience, and rally-o

This can be a very heart breaking topic. But it is better to know then not to know.

Animal abuse has VERY few regulations, even if regulations and laws are laid down they are rarely followed.
Most cruelties are hidden and never talked about to the public.
At the end of each slide there will be a video that can help educate you.

GRAPHIC PICTURES ARE USED!

Step 1: Puppy Mills

Most of us know the song who's that doggy in the window?
But what we don't ask is where did that doggy come from? Most of us would guess a breeder, but is that breeder any good?
Simply look at the fact that the pet store is stocked with puppies everyday 365 days of the year.
These puppies come from Puppy Mills where dogs (the parents) are kept in very small cages and are forced to breed until they are unable to breed anymore and are then killed.
The conditions are unfit, unclean, and abusive. the dogs are starved and beaten and the cages are stacked on top of each other meaning urination is passed from cage to cage.
The dogs themselves are unhealthy a puppy mill owner will breed any dog he/she thinks they can make a buck on. This includes, blindness, broken legs, infection, heart worms, etc. this also leads to the owners who purchased the puppy to have a very ill dog who intern dies at a young age.

The government and local state governments do not have any regulations on puppy mills, and the humane society and ASPCA can't help until the conditions are bad enough where they can make a legal argument. After that the animals are seized and the owner will fined or put in jail for a couple of months.

Step 2: The Circus

Most people won't see anything wrong with the circus.
But why do the elephants obey the trainers? Elephants and other animals in the circus are abused constantly through the usage of whips, bull hooks, traveling, chains, etc.
The very thought of taking an animal half way across the world then making it preform in unnatural conditions in it's self is abusive. But then adding painful tricks and physical and mental abuse to that is torture to these delicate animals.
What's natural about an Elephant standing on it's head, and rolling on a small ball? It's painful.
Elephants are taught from birth to preform, they are taken from their mothers right after birth and are beaten into doing painful tricks.
Also if you've ever seen tigers preform at a circus you can see their ears are constantly pinned back, a true sigh of pain and dislike.

Step 3: Dog & Horse Racing

These two are a lot alike
Animals are bred, trained, once their carrier is finished they are killed. There is a lot of abuse in between that time, dogs are born in puppy mill like conditions.
Don't let Hollywood fool you this in no Secretariat life.
