Introduction: Water Pump Clock

This instructable will show you how to turn an old automotive water pump into a clock. Every car nut needs a clock so why not have one made from car parts. This my first in a line of instructables im calling "car part furniture". Ill make and submit more as I obtain parts.

Step 1: Materials

First things first, you need to get your materials.

you need:
Water pump (mine came off my truck when i replaced it).
cd case
2 led lights
clear hose (not pictured)
Clock kit with numbers
hot glue
piece of wood to screw pump to
12v battery (not pictured)

Step 2: LED Lights

Start by hot gluing the led lights in two holes where the radiator hose and thermostat go. Then run the wires out the back where the pump used to bolt to the block. The clear hose goes on the pipe and the leds light up the hose but I dont have the money for a hose right now.

Step 3: Attach Clock Gear

Next we need to attach the clocks gear housing to the pump. We do this with 2 bolts and washers. Make sure the bolts are the same size as the original thermostat bolts.

Step 4: Clock Face

Next take the CD case and break the front cover off and cut the hinge off and paint it whatever color you want. Once the paint is dry you can attach it to the gear housing and attach the numbers.

Step 5: Mounting the Pump

Now the pump clock is done and you need to attach it to a piece of wood with 3" or longer screws. Then find a STUD and mount at least 2 of the screws into a stud. IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS IT WILL RIP OUT THE WALL, My pump weighs at least 15lbs. Now attach the battery to the wires and
