Introduction: Wooden Slingshot
Hello everyone, sometimes I want to relax after work and for me one of the best ways to do this is to work with a beautiful exotic wood. So this project is rather not about the functional part, but about rest and aesthetic pleasure. Thank you for reading!
Supplies
I used 3mm thick oak and purple heart boards.
The tool needed mostly files and sandpaper. I cut out the main contour on a CNC router, but it can also be done with a manual jigsaw.
Step 1: Marking
First, I marked out the segments of the same length and cut them off.
Step 2: Gluing
A little sanding, PVA glue and a wonderful homemade plywood is ready.
Step 3: CNC Time!
I love watching how the CNC machine works, cutting out the perfect lines of the workpiece. Sometimes I want to leave the parts without finishing right after the CNC machine.
Step 4: Shaping
I give the desired shape with the help of files and sandpaper.
Step 5: Polishing
My favorite stage is wax polishing.
Step 6: Rubber
I cut the rubber band of the desired shape and attach it to the slingshot, it is much easier to do it in a vice.
Step 7: P.S.
I hope you enjoyed it! I also made a video, just doing the same thing without words to calm music.
