This tetrahedron is woven from six strips of paper.

Step 1: Materials and Tools

I used a paper cutter, scissors, tape, construction paper, mat board, a compass, and a pencil.

Step 2: Preparing the Strips

I cut six 1/2" wide and 11" long strips of construction paper. I used a paper cutter and two colors of paper to add contrast. I also used a compass to make an equilateral triangle template from a piece of mat board.

Step 3: Trimming and Tapping

I used the template to trim the ends of all of the strips at a 60 degree angle. I then laid out each color on the angle and tapped the group together.

Step 4: Folding

I use the template to fold each grouping over onto themselves, making a bundled equilateral triangle (kind of like a paper football). Then I unravelled each bundle.

Step 5: Weaving

I wove the two sets of strips together, and continued a over under weave until I returned to the first side. As the strips wound round the tetrahedron a second time I wove the ends back through the weave. When I was running out of paper I trimmed the ends off and tucked them into the weave.
