Alcohol, how much is really bad?

Put simply guys I weigh 11 and 1/2 stone, and I'm wondering here... See last night I drank three bottles of wine and a bottle of goldschlager. Tonight I dropped a bottle of wine, a litre of baileys, a big (700ml) bottle of kronenbourg, about seven shots of tequila and at least four peach schnapps shots. Now here's why I'm asking, I can get up after only four hours sleep and be fine, barely bumping the legal limit before coffee both nights, how does alcohol immunity work?

Well, from what I know, like most other substances (most drugs, hot peppers, etc.) the more you take in, and the more frequently you take it in, the more your immune system builds up a tolerance to that substance. Now, with alcohol, and some other substances, a reverse immunity can eventually occur, where the liver becomes SO damaged that it can no longer process the alcohol, and therefor a smaller amount will intoxicate.

Dude, how's it going with the consumption? It's been a year since the last answer to this question. I also like beer, wine, bourbon, schnapps, tequila & the rest of the gang. One should, however, consider the adverse effects of having too much ethanol in you body. The levels of ingestion which you talk about would be enough to take a normal person close to death. Although deaths directly related to alcohol poisoning are scarce, many mortalities are linked to excessive alcohol consumption. I could go an at length about the pharmacological, biochemical, psychological and social effects of alcohol abuse. Wanna ask a question? PM me.

Wow. That's quite a bit. I'm a big fan of two glasses of wine after dinner, but I'd say three bottles in a night (plus beer) is a bit excessive. If you made a habit of that kind of drinking, I think your liver would regret it.

I understand. I could binge on beer, or clear spirits (not that I would :) without much suffering in the morning. But if I drank that much wine I would DEFINITELY regret it. I think proper hydration and nutrition, mixed with a certain level of sustained activity (I'm not sure how much), can really thwart the "morning after disaster."

Think about it. If Skunkbait is saying it's excessive, you know you're in trouble.

Be careful. The ability to ingest that amount of alchohol and not have any adverse affect indicates to me a proclivity to alchoholism. I'd suggest that you talk to a doctor. Seriously. Sorry to be a pill, but you asked.

It doesn't. You may be getting used to the intoxicating effects, but the damge to your liver, brain, heart etc is just as significant as the day you took your first drink. If what you quote is a typical weekend, you are officially a serious binge drinker, and borderline alcoholic (when was the last time a social evening passed without alcohol? Do you drink alone?)
