Alternating Wet/Dry Ingredients?

Alternating wet and dry ingredients is most common when making cakes. It helps keep more bubbles in the batter which will create a lighter more airy texture. If you are making cookies, bars, brownies, or other dense items it isn't necessary, but be sure to read the recipe directions to see if it's necessary in what you are making! If you are feeling a bit lazy and don't want to add little by little, just be sure to set your mixer to low when adding wet ingredients to dry!
