Any ideas on how to make lids for jars?
However, what I have are a number of those Kraft Peanut Butter jars that are shaped like teddy bears. Unfortunately they have no lids.
I'd like to use them on a kitchen shelf and fill them with various things...
nuts, candies, rubber bands, etc
I know someone out there will have the imagination for figuring out how I can "cap" them.
They don't need to be fastened... screwed on or snapped.
I just want to cover the openings in some way that looks "finished", and of course, keep the dust out.
I do want them to match so the jars look like a set.
Thanks for your interest and ideas.

The wood using routers etc is beyond my skill level, but that would be wonderful!
The cork idea would be more my 'level'.
However, I got lucky! I found that a certain type of candle jar had lids that worked perfectly for the smaller jars. I found a similar one at a thrift shop for the medium jar. The big one still had it's lid. I'll keep an eye open for a glass lid like the other for that one though.
The idea of the bears wearing different hats is very cute, however, I'm looking for a more uniform look this time 'round.
Again, thank you all so much!
(I'll choose my own (if I'm able) as best answer to avoid having to choose between so many good ones!)
peace
If you get a nice-looking piece of 1 inch thick wood, you can cut circles to fit over the top of your jars. Make the circles about an inch larger in diameter than the jar opening. Use a router to round over the edges and to rout a groove on the underside of the cap that fits over the lip of the jar. Sand, then paint or stain to suit your tastes.
You might be able to find precut wooden circles at a craft store, and the same idea would work in thick plastic or plexi if wood's not your thing.
Also, consider going to your local paint-your-own ceramic studio and seeing if they have shallow bowls or conidment dishes that would fit. You could glaze them any way you wanted. If you know a potter, you could ask them to throw you some jar covers on their wheel, too. The same idea could work in slumped glass, too.
(I have visions of each bear wearing a different "hat"...)
This is what I'm talking about:
