I want to make a table top of some scrap wooden beams, and not sure which method to use is suitable: dowels vs nails vs screws.

They're all good options, but it comes down to what type of table you're looking for, what it's going to be used for, and how much work you want to put into it.
Many times, I just use glue to hold the wood together. My scrap ends table uses only glue, and so does my ultimate workbench top.
Thanks for the tips. I'll take a look through those two projects to see if I can use those methods.
