Are there companies that make custom campaigns?

I have to write a business plan for a class (with a partner) , and we have decided to create a PR company that offers custom political campaigns. I'm doing some research for the comparative analysis, and am having little luck finding direct competitors. I figure they're out there, but I can't seem to find them. Does anyone have any leads for me or heard of any prominent campaign companies?

If this is a school project, "poll" a few people, get their ideas about politics. In the UK Saatchi & Saatchi have been quite influential, you might start with this article and pick-out names/words/phrases for searches:

It's bigger than you think. Tony Blair took a lot off Bill Clinton, but Saattchi &- are classic for the UK. Try a search for "Bill Clinton Campaign" you should get plenty.

I don't believe there are any companies just for custom political campaigns.  In my opinion every political campaign is a custom campaign.  I've been involved in some county wide elections peripherally and they were run by someone close to the candidate who was savvy in the ways of politics.

I believe in the higher levels of campaigning they are run by someone who is respected by the candidate and has good organizational skills and many contacts.  That person is often someone who is looking to be included in some way by the candidate if he or she wins.

A lot of these persons are attorneys, lobbyists and past legislators who have lots of contacts and know the in's and out's of the political world.

The only "companies" that I would think might be in the business of "custom campaigns" might be a really high end advertising company.  A political campaign is just another version of what their main activity is.  There might be a "political" department in their structure.

So I guess my "final answer" would be that an advertising agency would be the closest thing to a "custom political campaign" agency and you could compare your model company against one of them.  Maybe you could set up your model company as the "political" branch of an advertising company.
