Blocking websites? On a Mac? Anybody?

I want to block some websites on a Mac. We use Firefox 3, on Mac OS X 10.5. Any suggestions?

If you only have a handful of websites to block, just redirect them using the hosts file. Basically you just tell your computer to go to the IP you've specified (usually 127.0.0.1-a loopback)

Here's an Apple knowledgebase article on how to edit the hosts file. The end result will look like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 nakedchicks.com
127.0.0.1 hotgilfs.com
127.0.0.1 randygrannies.com

Maybe this add-on for Firefox?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3145

I don't have a Mac, so not much help there; and Firefox uses the windows host file to block websites on a PC.
