Building a vacuum former table

I want to build a vacuum former table at home but I want to know if I can get texture and other details showing in the mold with this process.

Depends on whether you use a male or female tool. A female tool will tend to show textures on the "outside", if the plastic is pretty soft, a male tool will not tend to show much through from the tool.
...exactly as steve says. If there's not too much undercutting, it shoudlnt be a problem to make the opposite mold (male or female) depending on the needs... For example - a hot tub shell is vacuum formed - and it has every detail, including the texture.
