Camping/hiking stoves which is for me?

Hi I'm thinking of buying a gas stove but I'm stuck between Primus ETA packlite and a Trangia 27 with a gas stove. Which one do you think is better?

I have used camping gaz and a traditional Trangia with Meths and found them both adequate - The trangia advantage is it has all the pot I need as well

A lot depends on the type of camping your going to do - Wild camping far from civilization or cam site camping. If you carrying then the Trangia should be lighter.

You can't really compare them. They're completely different, for different purposes. It depends on what you're using them for.

Personally I prefer cooking on gas and I like Primus stuff, but if you're going abroad you might not be able to buy/travel with gas.

You need to decide what you want it for and where you're going to use it. Why did you pick those two stoves to compare? You should probably pick a fuel system first, then compare like-to-like.

The trangia used with the gas stove http://m.gooutdoors.co.uk/trangia-trangia-camping-stove-p141015
In which case I'd go for the Primus if it were my choice. They're more efficient, and rick's wrong about the weight. The Primus is 2/3 the weight of the Trangia, the trangia doesn't have piezo start and the primus' heat shield is better.

I'd also argue that the primus is DESIGNED to be used with gas. The trangia's gas attachment is just an add on.

Wow.... not to mention the price difference.
Trangia + gas burner = 49.50 + 50 = 99.50
Primus = 82.80

I also choose these two as they are stoves which have pots and the stove packs into them
