Can EL wire be connected in parallel and/or series?

The question says it all.

Generally its designed for a particular voltage.  Longer length = more voltage required.  Running more in parallel will draw more current at the same voltage, running more in series will draw more voltage.

So...yes.

Generally its always run in series as the power supplies are designed for a specific voltage/length of cable at a given amp rating.
