Can I control the height of quadcopter using MPU 6050?

Is there a way that I can control the height of the quadcopeter using the MPU 6050? I know that the accelerometer and the gyroscope are used to measure the angular acceleration and the orientations respectively and stabilise the flight. But how would you measure the height of the quadcopter?

If your flying in a building there are magnetic and visual cam position opportunities.

Outside, GPS may be too slow or try microwave reflection or correlate E-fields.

I once used to three transponders to triangulate and track the nose position of a tethered dirigible aerostat at 10,000 feet.

Like Steve said ... "you need to add a height sensor"


Not with an MPU will need to add a height sensor.
