Can I make a light organ with a graphic equalizer?

I have a Fisher CA-39 amplifier with an integrated graphic equalizer. I want to make a light organ and instead of starting from scratch I thought maybe I could use this graphic equalizer I already have. I know that the equalizer splits the audio into 5 frequency ranges and then allows you to adjust each one individually, So I guess my question is can you hijack the broken up signal before it reconstitutes it into a single output and then put it to lights(ideally LEDs) instead of speakers?

If you look inside at the circuit there are probably very obvious circuits that split into the many channels, each running through a different set of chokes to give the frequency bands for each channel. Tapping in there should allow for a signal you could apply to a light-organ bar graph.
