Can I use a laptop mouse for a computor mouse?

I have an old laptop mouse (a little pad thing that I took out of an old laptop) and I was wondering if I could wire it up to use it for a computor mouse.

Sometimes. If it's just the touchpad, and no chip, then you probably can't. However, some have a small chip with the trackpad and buttons that communicates with PS/2. This would be easy to hack up to work with a normal PC.
