Can RFID Chips be used to trigger a file to play on your PC?

For example, If you implanted chips into the case of each of your DVD's, and configured them to play the movie file stored on your PC when scanned, you could choose a movie with friends, scan it, and then proceed to watch said film, without having to search for the file?

Yes you could easily do that, but instead if configuring the chips to play a movie file stored on your PC, it would be better to write software that matches an RFID's chip unique code with the movie.
Take a look here, this is basically what you're looking for, but then with an iPhone instead of a computer.

interesting question, and what crimson1989 said, i think this could go somewhere,.....it would make a cool usb dongle with a small interface to select a song, and associate it with different RFID tags....hmmmm...
