Canon pixma mp140 ink problem.

When I inserted a new color ink cartrage from TESCO (remanufactured ink cartridge for use in canon inkjet printers. SC210359) it says the cartrige has been replaced but shows critical ink levels. The print isnt satisfactory as the colours are dull(i hafe defaulted all setings). Any suggestions?

I googled your title and got this. Down about mid page there are several fixes. Read them over and see which one works for you.

I'll bet you are not using a "real" Canon cart. Some printers have a chip in the cart. that gets set with the cart is empty. If you refill it without resetting the chip, the printer thinks the cart is still empty. It's their way of making you buy genuine Canon. If you did get a cart. in branded Canon then you might have gotten a fake not really from Canon.

There is a way to turn off the monitoring of the ink levels. That's what I did. I just make sure that I have an extra cart. ready if the print starts looking bad so I can switch out with the new one.

Good luck and let us know how it works out for youl
