I keep my house at 66-70 degrees during the day and 60 at night during the winter. I have tried unsuccessfully to get the starter started and I think it is because the house is not warm enough. Any suggestions?

I recommend waiting longer before your first feeding, and increasing the amount of seed starter you use during your feedings. So instead of 15g of starter, 30 grams of water, and 30 grams of feed, try 30/30/30 and see if that changes your results.
Good luck, let me know if your slow starter persists!
