ANSWERS : Living

I'm a big fan of those egg custard buns you find in chinese bakeries.  Does anyone have a favorite recipe to recommend so I'm not blindly trying versions from Google? 

We have a nice egg custard tart recipe on Instructables,  but it isn't quite the same.  The dry icing/glaze on top of the buns is extra-awesome, and a tart can't cut it.

Well the reason you're not having any luck on Google or any other website is that these aren't egg custard buns. They're are actually (directly translated) pineapple buns. The bun sn't actually flavored with pineapple and is made with egg but I suggest Googling Chinese pineapple buns. And sorry of this is a little late :)

I'm sure there's a saying that applies here about people who live in glass houses... yes, there are recipes on Google but that wasn't the question (unless that specific recipe is one you have made before and were recommending in an oblique way).

Sorry, but I've had pretty reasonable luck with recipes from Google -- about as good as from recommendations, actually.
