Could anyone direct me to a no-cost shorthand writing tutorial?
A tutorial, video, written instruction, e-book, download, I don't care, as long as it's free, and covers everything about shorthand writing. I just suddenly rekindled my interest in the subject, but since my Google searches have turned up nothing but definition and no instruction, I bet I'm not looking deep enough (and I don't know how) but I also bet someone already has and I was hoping that person would be floating around this site.
Anything else? Yeah, don't make me download over 100 megabytes, since download speeds in the Philippines aren't especially fast, which would be normal speeds to you 1st world users. I would prefer Gregg Shorthand since it has (thankfully) already been adapted for the Tagalog dialect, which is the lingua franca of the Phil. This would allow me to take notes in Filipino class, and not just English.
Reason for me, a 13-year old, to learn shorthand: I am seriously tired of writing notes. You may suggest taking the shortcut route (i.e. noting the important terms only) but it doesn't cut it. My mind can't distinguish between important terms and random conjunctions stuck in there, which are very important, because the teachers will always look for holes to test our abilities. I need to copy everything on the board, and from the mouth of the teacher. I am aware of all the difficulties with learning shorthand, but I'm taking it up anyway.
EDIT: Also a few free resources for the book of definitions, as that's what I'm really hunting for.
