Could someone give me information and advice on vegetarianism?
I would like some advice on vegetarianism. Could someone give me a pro and con on veg diet compared to a meat diet, with vegetarianism can one achieve the right amount of proteins and minerals for the body without vitamins or supplements? Is it healthy, or healthier then a meat diet? Can the same effect be caused on a "meatless Monday" diet of food. And does it fit for me; I'm 6 foot, 195 pounds, 15 years old, very active(running, basketball, swimming). Just interested on the health effects it could cause.

Dont go in ANY extreme direction. Just eat a good balance of foods for optimum health.
If its not a matter of conscience, meaning that you don't feel comfortable eating animals, you are far better off to keep a balance with the goal of not just getting calories but getting a mix of all the nutrients you need. This is a huge topic with a lot of controversy but the bottom line is keep balanced and not go to an extreme in any direction and you will do OK.
You MUST eat a large range of things to replace the meat protein - Pulses, are a good source of protein but may don't like them.
Choose yourself - decide if your taste is wide enough to support a good diet. In my experience unless careful you may well put on weight if your not careful with dairy products and don't have a balanced diet.
