Could someone recommend a template and/or pattern for a burlap "hip" shopping bag?

I would talk apart a paper bag and use that as a template. Your choice of materials is yours alone.

I'd recommend hemp over burlap. It's stronger and more durable, 'greener' to grow, and, perhaps most importantly, looks the coolest.
