A diatonic doesn't play sharps or flats without technique.
A chromatic has all the sharps and flats. A chromatic has a button on the right hand side that when pressed in plays the sharps and flats.
The 'Big River' is diatonic as far as I know.

Chromatics have a lot more holes.
