Does anybody know where to get a 315 mm ( -10mm) displacement sensor in the UK?

A friend of mine is looking for a 315 mm displacement sensor (potentiometric). I've tried google but I can only find results over several hundred euro... On ebay I can only find very short potentiometers or expensive laser based sensors. Anybody know any alternative suppliers?

That is still over 200 euros but I suppose I wont find any cheaper. Thanks!
88 quid for a 320mm glass slide - but you have no absolute position, and you need a readout.
Alternatively, if the application area is dry and clear, and the translation speed isn't excessive you can read out a digital vernier and output an analogue signal from that.

....or pay ~200 Euro....

I have to say that price seemed pretty fair to me. Try buying a 300mm LVDT !!!!
