Does anyone know a safe way to charge an ipod touch 4g with 4 aaa batteries? Will I need any resistors, if so what kind?

any resistors, capacitors, etc. needed? What circuit should I use?

To charge the battery you need a voltage that is above the battery voltage - Do you know what that is?

Yes I am putting 9v into the 4.8v, do you think I need a transistor or any corcuit to make this work with my ipod 4g because currently, it does not. Thanks!
steve has given you the answer.
