Does anyone know a way to construct a fitted rubber bodysuit like those worn by cheesy movie superheroes?

I want to make either an Ozymandias or Nite Owl suit for halloween. I have not found a single instructable that outlines how to make a decent looking rubber bodysuit. It probably has to be custom molded for tons of $, but if anyone has any ideas for a cheap way to recreate this effect with decent results please help.

I know I'm kinda late on this, but I figured I'd give my two cents.  I knew a guy who recreated the Batman suit from The Dark Knight for Halloween one year.  He started with a form fitting shirt, possibly of the "muscle shirt" variety.  He then attached foam pads in layers for the "armor plates."  You can get the foam pads from places like Hobby Lobby, but I think the largest you can buy is 8 1/2"x11" sheets.  I'll see if I can find a picture of it and post it.  It looked remarkably good.  I'm not sure what glue he used or if he even used glue.
You can find used wetsuits for cheap online. That could be a good base. You could also handsew vinyl panels onto it. :) A leotard could also form an excellent base. I've never done anything like that from stratch, always used a base.

I'd start with a wetsuit... you may be able to paint it with latex or similar if you wanted it shiny. Would be very, very hot though.... you would have to drink lots of cold beer to keep cool ;) Otherwise, something like a lycra / spandex leotard / dance suit?
