Does anyone know how to move a dove cote without distressing the birds too much?

We have a small wooden dove cote which houses 8 white doves and we want to move it about 10 meters from its current position. We had some dramas when we moved their feeding platform with it taking the birds a couple of days to find the new one. I don't want the birds to get so distressed with moving home that they leave. Any suggestions?
