Does mobile have an option to unlock after taking thumb impression of owner instead of password?

Does mobile have an option to unlock after taking thumb impression of owner instead of password? I mean to say that, mobile should not be unlocked without the thumb impression of the owner. does this option available in any mobile? If not how to do this?

The Motorola Atrix has a built in finger print reader to unlock it. http://www.motorola.com/us/consumers/Motorola-ATRIX-4G/72112,en_US,pd.html
+1, my brother had one. Never used that feature though.

Technically yes this could be done there are finger print checkers out there

BUT

as far as I know biometrics are not applied to current mobile phones.

is an example of biometric access control.

If Your into this area then I would have though that eye print would be a better option as most phones have a camera attached these days - Retina are as individual as finger prints - the software could be tricky though.

There are laptops on the market that use this tech, but really its easily defeated (generally much easier than figuring out the person's password).
+1, even supposed "Top of the line" fingerprint door locks can be defeated with a scanner and an inkjet printer.
If you want more secure passwords pick 4 random common words and use different passwords for each site. It will take a computer roughly 65,000 times as long to guess a password formatted like that then the normal "one cap, one lowercase, one special, one number, at least 8 characters" format.
