Dual monitor problem?

I have two VGA ports on my pc, so i recently plugged in two monitors. Only one of them will turn on. Vista doesn't even know the second one is there. What can i do to make vista recognize the second one? There are some pics to help you diagnose ze problemo.

EDIT!: Look at picture two.

Most vista PCs come with an nVidia video card. Try downloading the laest update: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

As ork said, you'll need to check your settings to see if there's a secondary monitor driver installed as well as checking your hardware manuals to see if that's a live port or simply a dead socket.

My guess is that it's a valid port, but it's not being recognized because you need to enable it.

I'd be inclined to reboot and see if Windows will pick up the second monitor.

If it doesn't, then it's time to check the documentation for your PC and if necessary, contact the computer mfg directly for assistance..

That I'm not sure. I am still running under windows XP Pro. Haven't had the cash to invest in an OS upgrade for the past 2-1/2 years

I'd suggest a google/other search for "enable dual monitors in Windows Vista"

Insert the name of your computer or motherboard to add specific hits.

Somewhere under Advanced Settings -- or elsewhere in the Start/Control Panel/Display set -- there will be an option for dual displays, if your device drivers support them.

The drivers may not support them.
