Electric guitar pick-up / electromagnetism question?
In this instructable, an electric guitar pick-up is made by winding the wire around a magnet sandwiched between two small pieces of wood to keep the coil in place.
If I were to replace the wood with steel discs, would it still work as a guitar pick-up?

Can't tell until you try it. And good to me might be bad to him. I would expect that it would cut more of the lows but I might be wrong. I hope he'll build it both ways and then come back and tell us what he found out.
