Fancy stereo build?

Hi everyone,

So I recently purchased a new house and it has these built-in speakers in every room.
Thing is that I dont have a fancy stereo or something to hook it up to, so I wanted to build
something myself.
I wanted to build a device that could be controlled through an old smartphone I have laying
around, via bluetooth. On which I can then select songs on Spotify or radio etc.
And it should also allow me to switch between which speakers I want to use.
(Each one has a separate cable)
Does anybody have any ideas on how to do this? Or is there maybe something on the market matching
my descripion that I can buy?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards.

If in doubt check for home automation system, there are options for audio and video too.
Using sensors, bluetooth ID or similar the system knows in which room you are and signals are faded over to where you are.

I agree with Steve and Iceng, is there definitely not an amp tucked away in a cupboard or a loft somewhere? Or do you just have a bunch of speaker wires with nowhere to go?

If it's the latter one of the first things you need to do is check what speakers they are and what ratings (speaker impedance and wattage) as this will influence what amp is best suited.

Just what you need, + perhaps a good audio amp.

You can find projects here by searching for media centre. Several Raspberry pi projects + others.

Personally I bought a Chrome cast audio and a small 10 watt audio amp which allows me to stream music.

I also have an Amazon dot so I can access Spotify (only works with PRO) - You can get audio amplifiers from ebay with buetooth connectivity.

I agree with Steve, there should be a an amplifier somewhere in a cabinet, attic or hidden wall... It does not make sense that someone would take a special amp with switching network out of your home...

How do you connect to the speakers ? Is there an amplifier in a closet somewhere ?

What you want is buyable, but there are projects out there which match your description.
