HOW TO - GUCCI BAG

WHAT TIN WOULD ONE USE  TO MAKE A GUCCI BAG CAKE AND THE BEST WAY TO CARVE IT.

there is no specific pan to use. a cakemaker will make a couple few cakes then stack them with some sort of filling. As RavingMadStudios says you definitely want a dense cake or it will crumble from the weight. When you have it stacked, it sometimes helps to freeze the cake and/or let the cake settle for a day before you carve it and decorate it. you can use fondant or gum paste to do the frosting, you could also make chocolate modeling clay. I've don't purse cakes before and used this for the "handles and zipper". Just take your time, you can't rush a cake. Good luck. Oh, forgot, check out the site cakecentral.com they have lots of good tutorials and recipes.

See this one:

It says full-size fruit cake, so looking at it I think a large round tin.
Carve it - knife & eye. But the exterior is marzipan & icing, so you don't have to be super-precise.

Wow, that is one impressive cake!!  Almost a shame to cut it up.  Except that it's fruit cake, bleh.
Lemonie's onto it. For an upright structure like a handbag, you're going to want a dense cake. I'd go with poundcake over fruitcake, but that's just me. As for the shape, jeff-o's got that one. It depends on what bag you want to replicate.
