Has anyone used mri data and converted it to autocad point cloud?

Then used the point cloud to design and then print a surgical instrument for CNS surgery?

Lots of people. Do you mean HERE ? Take a look at some of the stuff on the right >>>

Thankyou for the info. The software is really interesting adn i downloaded it and will put it on my computer in the lab.
Many hospitals and doctors are starting to convert MRI scans into 3D models and then printing them out on a 3D printer to help them prep for surgery.

I don't know if they have used models to help them perfect a surgical tool. I'm sure they could do it and it could help them in designing a new tool. But i doubt they would use a 3D printed tool. At least not one printed off any commercial printer.
