Two of my friends and I made a lot of money selling gum my eight grade year. Just sell its slightly more than it costs at the store. You would be amazed what people are willing to pay. Personally, I mow lawns in the summer, and during the school year I do odd tech jobs for people.
Kind of late but i do this .25 cents for a piece they get ripped off I tell them but when i can i sell whole packs for $1.50 which is less than the stores cost which is about $1.80. I also do a variety deal its $1.25 for a pack of 15 pieces of gum guaranteed but the 15 pieces aren't the same flavor and the pack is opened.

Simply give out loans. If you give someone $2 tell them to pay you $3 the next day and if they don't tell them there is a $1 late fee. Its very effective but only give money to people you trust.

just take some quarters and spray paint them some random colour. then go to places asking for "change for this $100 coin that just came out."

you can look at garage sales for things you may be able to sell for more at pawn shops or E-bay. you can also check out my money-making 'Ible here if you like.

I've been helping my friend's band making t-shirts. We made $60 in one day.

I knew someone who brewed his own alcohol and sold some of it at school.

I'm not suggesting that you do this, but:
Identify a market (what will people buy?) This could be perfectly legit' stuff like trading-cards, DVDs or hard-to-get publications.
Find a way to supply that market. Maybe you can find things others can't so easily - after all you're asking us for help, if you think someone else here knows better than you, then you can know better than someone else at school.

Sell what people need and always forget - stationary. You can buy large packs of pencils, pens, rubbers, even ink refills that work out at a handful of pennies per item. Break open the packs, sell the individual items at slightly more than cost, and slightly less than whatever the school sells them for. You'll get repeat business from the poorly-organised folk who can find you more easily than their pencil cases. You could also look into proof-reading and presentation services for coursework - you could get in trouble for doing the work for them, but not for just helping with their spelling and layout.

I'm in australia so that would be a couple of cents I think i can get a pack of 12 pens for about AU$2 (US$1.20)
Look around - some large stationers sell them in bags of 100 or more, working out at around 5 or 6 pence each.
The teachers at my school are very lenient when it comes to eating or selling food. If the same is true of your school, then I would suggest buying food in bulk at Sams Club at selling it for more than you bought it for. I'd also recommend selling skittles/starburst, chips, and some sort of healthy food such as granola or dried banana chips. Don't carry drinks in your bookbag because they might explode if your bag gets hit.

we can eat (Don't know about sell) pretty much anything. (The canteen sells lollies and coke is AU$1.80 in the vending machine. (US $1.20, EU $0.90) I catch the bus home and am a 5 minute walk away from the local supermarkets. I am home alone for 40-50 mins a day so i'm sure that's enough to get something from the shop and get home

During the mid-terms and finals, you can make study guides and sell them at $5.00 a pop. If you do this, try to keep it on the down-low, because usually schools do not like unauthorized sales in school.
