How can I make a Nerf Pocket Vortex?

Since the completion of my 2 inch piston valve pneumatic rocket launcher Ive been looking for a cheap source of pocket vortexes. I cant find any under 3 bucks. Does any one know of a cheap way to make similiar projectiles, thanks? I was thinking of making a mold and filling it with great stuff, then tossing BBs or pennies in for weight.

In my experience, Great Stuff doesn't like to cure inside enclosed molds, but I think casting the missiles is a good idea. Maybe check at Smooth-On for an A/B flexible urethane foam that would approximate Nerf density?

When you consider the expansion factor, it's actually not that bad pricewise. You could probably make a perfectly good missile-like object out of pipe insulation, though. I thought you were going for the Vortex look, but if that's not a huge factor, the insulation would definitely work.

Sounds cool. I look forward to seeing it.

You could check to see if your local dollar-store has any nerf type balls.
They might have something similar, other than that, I could only suggest checking for a gross shipment of them on ebay.
