You've got the cable rather than satellite service then?
I agree with orksecurity and others, most TV isn't worth having, never mind stealing... I haven't even had a TV for years.
Also, I think the old illegal US type cable hook-ups are probably not going to help your life / TV etc.

The media is misleading you. In the dim past of a decade or two ago, stealing cable was possible. These days, with digital encryption, it really isn't worth even trying.

If it isn't worth paying for, it isn't worth having. And to be perfectly honest, most TV _isn't_ worth having.

heh I'm beginning to believe this to be the ultimate truth. I pay roughly $60 per month for my "cable" subscription, and of the ~200 or so channels at my disposal, I watch perhaps a dozen with any regularity. Even then, TV has become a game of repeats, so I find that I'm watching the same programming over and over and over and over and...

Note too that an increasing amount of TV programming is available on line. Depending on what you're looking for, you may not need cable service at all.

I get all my TV through TVTorrents.com . Of all the torrent sites this is a class act one and because of that they are all legal and above board. Only shows that are publicly broadcast are allowed to be put up, No sports or any kind of pay per view, no web rips and no movies that haven't been on TV. In other words only stuff thats legal. You have to be a member, which is free, and you have to keep a positive credit balance, which means you have to seed at least as much as you download. Its moderated, there are ops that check every upload to verify that it meats the rules. If its bogus, its nuked and removed and the person who uped it can get banned. They have shows from all over the world, including from Australia. A new interesting SciFy show came from there called "This is not my Life". Commercial free, a whole backlog of shows, entire seasons. Its great. I have been seeding Picket Fences for 3 years now and have gotten over 100 gigs of credit for it. (An average one hour show is about 350 meg in size.) Its way better than trying to bootleg any cable.
