How could I tell if someone installed a phone tap, camera, or voice recorder in my room?

When I leave for work, I sometimes leave my bedroom window open. There is a medium sized gap between the screen about the size of your fist. Is there a way I could tell if someone has tapped my house? Recently my Samsung Flat-Screen has been very snowy and I remember that you could tell is something has been tapped because they interfere with your tv. The house I just moved into also has a wire panel outside my window which you can reach. My room is first floor, please help. I cannot sleep.
I also read that you can tell just if you can pick up RF signals coming from the device. Can someone give me a schematic for an RF Signal detector? I can't afford the commercial ones, I once read a stat that if you suddenly wake around 2am or 3am there is %80 chance of someone staring at you. Your body naturally senses this somehow. Well, when I looked at my window, I saw a light then after a few seconds it was gone. I went outside and I heard a couple of cans fall over and my fence my shaking like it was moved. My gate is usually locked but it is a reletively short fence. I haven't slept for days. I can't stand it. I'm going today to buy some black curtains as these cheap plastic blinds aren't cutting it

Would anyone have a reason to listen to or look at you?

Do you feel it when security workers are looking at you through security cameras in the mall? Probably not, then how could you feel some other camera? Camera is not a predator that we'd be adapted to feel.

Tidy your room throughly and check the suspect places then. If the window is supposed to be thief-proof while open and only a hand can fit through, then there is not much area to check. Otherwise concider yourself lucky that nothing is stolen yet while you kept your window open. The chances that someone prefers to spy on you when he could just steal your stuff is close to zero.

And if all this does not calm you down - talk to phychiatrist.

Am I paranoid that someone had moved my patio table closer to my window?
Am I paranoid that my fuse box was broken into?
Am I paranoid that at about 3AM I saw a small light outside my window,
Am I paranoid that when I went outside to check it out my gate was wide open with the padlock laying on the ground?

I'm not, I haven't had any sleep since.

If somone is trespassing your property, that is different topic than installing a bug into your room. For example teenagers can make a mess in your yard just because they are bored and it's cool to walk around places they are not supposed to be in. Things like that can happen almost at random sometimes and they could be not at all targeted personally at you. My sheds padlock was inspected by someone last summer too and some of my firewood stolen by neighbours from outside during the winter. And sometimes some drunk on the street chooses to loudly shake the locked gate. These little facts are annoying but they don't conclude to a conspiracy.

The main question: have you really pissed out someone who has enouch fantasy to bully you in such a way? Well, hard to tell about anyone's imagination, but simply have you pissed out someone? If the anwer is no, then suspecting a bug in your room is a bit paranoid. No one puts bugs out at random.

Good luck dealing with the real trespassers, but you also have to somehow deal with your own imagination that probably tends to exaggerate the bad and fears.

You're paranoid. A "bug" won't interfere with a tv. If it did then that would be too much of a tip off.

A wireless device would put out RF but there is a huge spectrum that is useable for this and to make a device to search for this would be very expensive. Your tv, computer, microwave radio etc. all put out rf energy that would also be picked up.

Why you anyone be looking at you at 2am?  I know for a fact that 86% of all percentage numbers quoted on the internet are made up.

Then you need to call the police and get this on record. Otherwise talking about it on the internet just makes you like like a delusional paranoid.

I already did, they said they checked the area and to call them if anything else occurs...
I read up on ways people can peep on you, I've read that people use CCTV Cameras or Recorders placed behind your window using blue tack. These CCTV's give off specific radio frequencies that can cause disruption on LCD TV's.
Recently I saw a bush move outside my window out of the corner of my eye and I heard something like a panel opening (fuse box directly on the outside wall of my bedroom?) and my Samsung Flat Panel LCD went a bit snowy. I went outside and I saw someone again out of the corner of my hop my fence.

I called the police about it and they said they'd run a report on it and check back with me in a few days...

In the meantime I haven't slept in a very long time
+1. Actually I thought that it was 86.257 % if all statistics were made up... right?
Right, I was typing in the dark and rounded off since I don't type numbers well.
Ahh... I just wanted to be sure I wasn't off.

And I must not be able to see too well either... I meant "of all statistics"... not "if all statistics." ;)

Paranoia.

If you suddenly wake at 2 0r 3am, there's an 80% chance that you had a weird dream, need the toilet, or your partner just rolled over and elbowed you in the ear.
