How do I activate a holloween ghost by motion sensor?

I have a battery powered ghost.  It has a microphone and when it senses noise it activates.  when it's running it moans noises and moves along a rope that's tied between two points.  The microphone is terrible and you have to yell to make it move.  I want to have a motion sense at the beginning of the walkway and when activated sends a wireless signal to the ghost to activate it.  How can I do this for cheap?

Thanks, now i just need to figure out the wireless part.
Take the guts out of an RC toy car under $10 use it to activate the place
where the mic would switch the ghost movement ON..

I have a unused router and a usb wifi adapter. Just any idea you have on how to do this would be great.

I'm not an Arduino expert, but this sounds like the kind of thing Arduino would be good for. You could just keep the electronics inside the ghost, and eliminate any kind of wireless bits, but that's only a suggestion.

I want to add wireless to it. It currently uses sound.
Well if everything's inside the ghost, you shouldn't need wireless because it's all inside.

Also, my friend says to attach a disco ball.
