How do I get the grey subtitles on Slideshow photos?

I know this has been asked before, but the solution was "Click the image and start typing" which didn't work. I'm sure you all know what I mean when I say the grey subtitles, they are like image notes exclusive to slideshows (they are NOT squares which you hold the mouse over to read though)

I only made a couple instructables. but i think i also had problems figuring out how to add those boxes. I believe i published the instructable, then went back and edited it and was able to add the boxes AFTER publishing then editing the published article. I just clicked on each picture and it came up with a box. Thats the best answer i can give. maybe somebody can cover what i missed or left out.
