How do I reinstall or repair Internet Explorer 8 in Windows Vista?
I don't like this machine, it has a sick feeling to it...
IE8.0.6001.19019 will start, then close before I can get hold of any buttons - it's broken.
I can't install IE8 from Microsoft because it decides the broken version is newer.
Firefox works OK, but I don't like IE being non-functional.
32bit Vista home.
-Funny thing: it works on one login, but not the other two.

OR
Download and Install the Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate from here.
I'd prefer not to, but that's my pending option (unless I get a better answer, which I probably won't)

Alternatively, roll back to a restore point before the trouble started.
Yes I thought about that, but "beta" sends some kind of creeps down my spine...

I installed Firefox, I want to repair IE (for the benefit of just having it fixed).
