How do you best maintain your table saw table top?

What is the best way to keep the table top smooth riding for wood to prevent table from grabbing wood wood as you run in through the saw? In other words, how do you maintain surface to ensure a nice sliding surface for the wood to glide across?

I brush the surface free of debris regularly, then use wood wax to keep the surface protected and keep things slippery.

Also, as tempting as a large flat surface is to store things on, I only use the table top for cutting wood and never apply any other coatings or solvents over the table saw. It might seem obvious, but I've seen more than one table saw with rings from cans of solvents.
