How do you meet people in the "comunity?"?

On the assumption that you mean this community:
Give yourself an image, fill-in your profile a bit more and make appropriate comments. Esp in the Forums. Don't jump in at any opportunity, but find things you've got a genuine interest in or can make a useful contribution to.
Maybe look at Answers/Questions as you'll see some of the same people repeatedly, and might be able to discuss a few things.
And if you've got something good to share, hit the "submit" button and share it.

Most of my contacts come from some sort of collaboration. For example, nachomahma helped me out with my irobot pool cleaner, and we've been talking since. Bumpus and I first got in contact when he had the idea to thank instructables.
