How do you snap a rod into a row of connectors??

I've tried DJRadio's method, and that didn't work for me.

eh, They don't really snap in because if you apply the force to the middle, the rods just bend out on the sides, and the middle doesn't go in anyways. if you put the force on either of the sides, same problem but reversed.
