How do you use a 4pin P4 12V cable for small motherboards?

Well? I'm interested in purchasing a motherboard, but it says to work, you need a 4pin P4 12V cable. How do you get power with that? Explaining, giving links to other cables, eating eggs, drawing images, stuff like that would help. Thanks!

There's a great series on youtube about how to build your own computer. I don't remember exactly where it is, but just go to youtube and search "build your own computer." It should be the one that's a 20 part series.

Modern power supplies have a 12v connector already on them. You don't need to buy an adapter like the one pictured. Since most modern motherboards have this 12v connector, just about every power supply will support it. When in doubt, get a different power supply you know has it, or contact the manufacturer. A power supply is a relatively cheap thing, don't use an ancient one without this connector.

The motherboard doesn't come with an AC power cable, the power supply does. You do realize you also need a power supply, right?

I get all my stuff from Newegg. I personally don't risk buying computer equipment from Ebay.

If you don't know, you need more involved one-on-one help from someone who know how to build machines before you try to build your own. Chances are, without help you're going to mess something up and end up wasting money.

But there's a whole category full of power supplies on Newegg. Could you seriously not find it? It's right here.
