How does a cordless drill operate? How does it produce power, amps torque, current. Does it produce ohms, kilohms

If you are observant, nature will speak to you.  Listen to your cordless drill. What does it say?  What does it say when you point the spindle at the sky, and pull the trigger and let the spindle turn freely? What does it say about drilling holes in wood or sheet metal?  What does it say about driving screws?

REEEEEEEEERRRRRRROOOOOOOWWW!!!

The driver drives the load. The load loads the driver.

The Phillips bit and the screw are lovers.  So it is also with the geartrain and the motor, and also with the motor and the battery.

Coupled together by copper and the subtle silicon, the motor and the battery whisper sweet voltage.  They thrust current through willing wires, and push and pull against one another, bound together in a tumultuous embrace.

If the battery is strong, as it should be if it has been charged recently, the battery's Yang will easily drive the pliant Yin that is in the motor.

But just as day gives way night, and as the crest of a wave gives way to a trough, after much effort, the battery becomes tired.  It's energy spent, the weakened battery's Yin will is easily overwhelmed by the motor's Yang.

Do you understand? This is not a photograph.  This is not a painting of a bowl of fruit.  Life is dynamic.  It is a dance.

This is the way also with your cordless drill.
Best......answer......ever.
I think you made my clutch slip...
lol...I've never heard a drill turned to pron mode

It uses a geared, battery powered motor to produce torque and RPM. There is a tradeoff between torque and rpm. Many models allow the torque setting to be switched between high speed, low torque and low speed high torque operation.

The drills USE current, as measured in the unit of AMPS to drive the drill motor. The do not generally PRODUCE current, unless someone has used the componentry to make a generator. (one can argue about back EMF if they like...I'll yawn and take a nap.

The motor can be modeled as an RPM dependent resistance. At low rpm, the motor represents a low resistance, which reaches a steady state value at some specific RPM. Which RPM and what resistance? I can't tell you..it's dependent on the specific motor.

Thank you           If you can give any other information this It would be greatly  appreciated  I have to write a report on this subject.   Thank you again.
I'm sorry. The only additional advise I'm willing to invest in this question is to tell you to research the topic on the net at-large or at the library.

We all end up having to do most of our own footwork or we become little more than leaches and slaves.
Hear Hear.
I didn't mean to be *too harsh, although it wouldn't be a first...
I think was whole heartedly agreeing with you. :p A very obvious homework question ^.^
Ah...ty...I *can be quite the prick, so I sometimes feel the need to qualify.

It works like a corded drill - the difference is that the electricity comes from a battery.

(you can't produce ohms, they are the unit of resistance).
