How much does a camera flash circut boost voltage?

I want to know how much a standard flash camera circut boosts voltage. I'm trying to build a railgun and I simply wish to know about how much it does, as I cannot afford a multimeter or voltage meter.
Information welcome.

About 300V average it will work for a rail gun, just use the same or higher voltage capacitors as in the flash system.

I need to build one of those some time.

Depending on which brand and model, I got a bunch of disposable flash cameras and the capacitors inside those were all 350V.

The circuit simply gets charge from the battery and fills up the capacitor, and when you take a photo the 350V is released, but at a lower amperage to the battery.

If and when you get those circuits, carefully take them apart and look at the capacitor, just be careful you don't spark yourself! :D

Any where from 200 VDC to almost 400 VDC.
If you take one apart, an easy way to tell is it's close but less then the voltage
printed on the storage capacitor.
